Apartment Diaries

The times, they are a-changin'. My roommate for next year and I had found a place, but then the apartment got broken into and the current tenants attacked, so we pulled out of that, much shaken, and today we found a new place. Quirky, big, quiet... I love it. Now to go through all the application hoopla again, and quick, before we leave for Greece. Bleah. In the meantime, our current landlord has got people coming through to look at our current apartment, and I come home to find my closet opened and my lights on. I feel slightly violated.

Y'All Gon' Make Me Lose My Mind

I cannot believe I was all calm at the beginning of this month. I've been quite the stressball lately, due to my responsibilities toward finding an apartment, making a Jeopardy game for the second-year med students, and planning my upcoming trip to Greece. Bah.

Brownie

I'm mentally quiet, empty, placid, still. I got a huge package from my residency institution today. And it was the most exciting thing about my day, but I'll admit that a close second was a brownie made of Peruvian cocoa with Andalusian orange blossom oil, from a place in Chicago called "Coco Rouge." I ate about half of it through the course of the day and oh man, was it good. Yummmm.
